The development involves a large-scale upgrade of airport infrastructure aimed at expanding capacity and improving overall functionality. The scope includes the construction of a new passenger terminal building designed to handle increased traveler volumes efficiently and comfortably. In addition to the terminal, a second runway will be built to enhance aircraft movement, reduce congestion, and support more frequent flight operations. The existing airport facilities will also undergo significant refurbishment to align with international standards and improve service delivery. These improvements are expected to strengthen the airport’s role as a key regional aviation hub, support growing tourism and trade, and contribute to the broader economic development of the country.
